MRCEDM is a consortium of four major universities in the North Texas area,
including: UTA, UTD, UNT, and SMU. MRCEDM was formed to provide
a means, to enhance research activities in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex
area of electronic materials. Research areas include: device design, materials
processing and materials characterization.

Our branch, the UTA arm of MRCEDM, has three main characterization
techniques: TEM, X-ray
spectroscopy and SEM. The
equipment is open for community use, with prearranged authorization and
proper training. We can also run a sample for you.
Our facility consists of:
five X-ray diffractometers, including:
Laue,
Lang,
Powder,
Four-Circle
and
a Thin-film type, four electron
microscopes (2 TEM's and 2 SEM's), including: Philips
430 ST High Resolution TEM , a JEOL
1200 EX w/ light element EDS, a JEOL
845 SEM w/ EDS, and a Cambridge
120 SEM. and a well equipped TEM/SEM sample
